What Is Medovik, the Ukrainian Honey Cake?

Medovik is a classic Eastern European honey cake: thin layers of honey-baked sponge stacked with a light sour-cream filling and finished with soft toasted crumbs. It rests so the layers soften into something closer to a torte than a cake, tender, not too sweet, with a gentle caramel note from the honey.

Ours is baked from scratch in Tucker and is one of the few places in metro Atlanta making it to order. See the full menu for our other signature cakes, or browse the gallery.

We bake medovik to order at our Main Street bakery in Tucker, an easy drive from Decatur, Stone Mountain, Chamblee, and northeast Atlanta. If you have been searching for a Russian or Ukrainian honey cake near you, this is it. See the full menu or browse the gallery.
